Who We Are

OptiRisk India is the Indian arm of OptiRisk Systems UK, which is an ISO 9000 company operating in the United Kingdom. Our mission is to help business capture value through Computational Optimization and Risk Management Solutions. To this end, OptiRisk offers training programs, Optimization Software tools, and 'bespoke' solutions.

OptiRisk mainly focuses on the developing solutions in the areas of resource planning, supply chain management and Risk Analytics.

Our Team

Prof. Gautam Mitra

Chairman

Prof. Gautam Mitra is the founder and the MD of OptiRisk Systems. He is an internationally renowned research scientist in the field of Operational Research in general and computational optimisation and modelling in particular. He has developed a world class research group in his area of specialisation with researchers from Europe, UK, USA and India. He has published five books and over hundred and fifty research articles. He is an alumni of UCL and currently a Visiting Professor of UCL. In 2004 he was awarded the title of "Distinguished Professor" by Brunel University in recognition of his contributions in the domain of computational optimisation, risk analytics and modelling. He is an emeritus Professor of Brunel University. In OptiRisk Systems he directs research and actively pursues the development of the company as a leader in the domain of financial analytics. Professor Mitra is also the founder and chairman of the sister company UNICOM seminars. OptiRisk systems and UNICOM Seminars also have subsidiaries in India. In India and Southeast Asia both the companies are going through a period of organic growth.

Padmakumar. Bala,

CEO & Managing Director

Mr. Padmakumar has more than 28 years of experience in Product Development and Product Management in Telecom and Banking Industries. At Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), he spearheaded a joint venture product development with Motorola, Israel. Mr. Padmakumar worked for Lucent Technologies in the US for 10 years and is a co-holder of a US patent. Before joining OptiRisk India, he worked for a subsidiary of Bank of New York, Mellon as a Vice-President, where he headed the Product development/management of Compliance Solutions. Mr. Padmakumar has an Executive MBA (PGPEX) degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata and a BE (Electronics and Communication) degree from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore.

Venkata Rama Subramaniam,

Marketing & Strategy Director

Mr. Venkata Rama Subramaniam has considerable experience of consulting and managing 'high end' customer facing projects comprising Business Consulting, Change Management, Business Process Re-engineering and IT Strategy. Venkata started his career with Mukand Steel and subsequently joined the Management Consulting Division of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). In TCS [1999-2008] he specialised in Internet Technologies, E-Governance and IT strategy; his assignments were in multiple geographies, namely, USA, UK and UAE (Dubai). Between 2006-07 as part of his TCS assignment Venkata became the CIO of 5 IFB Group Companies. In SAP [2008-2013] he was one of the top BD manager and specialized as a Strategic Value Advisor to the top management and CXO-level officials of the SAP clients. Since [2013-present] he is an independent consultant and has board position in a number of small but leading digital/analytic companies including OptiRisk Learning Systems.
